Full Blood Count and ESR
Haemoglobin plus measurements of red cell size and maturity. Red blood cells transport oxygen around the body. Affected by many diseases and poor diet.
White Cell Count and 5 part differential. Crucial part of the immune system in fighting infection.
Platelet Count. Used to help blood clot after injury.
ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate). General screen for any acute or chronic inflammation.
Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Bicarbonate. Crucial ‘salts’ in the blood, can be affected by excess fluid loss or kidney disease.
Urea, Creatinine and eGFR (glomerular filtration rate). Detect silent early renal (kidney) impairment.
Bilirubin, Alkaline Phosphatase, Aspartate Transaminase, Alanine Transaminase, Gamma-GT. Check for signs of liver inflammation or obstruction, can be caused by gallstones, toxins and liver disease.
CK (creatinine kinase) and LDH (lactate dehydrogenase). Elevated levels indicate muscle or tissue damage.
Total Protein and Albumin. Protein levels affected by nutrition and disease or inflammation.
C-reactive Protein (CRP). General marker of inflammation in the body, linked to cardiovascular disease.
Calcium and Phosphate. Healthy levels needed for good bone strength.
Uric Acid. Created by breakdown of purine in food and alcohol. High levels damage kidneys and cause gout.
Glucose. A random glucose level can check for diabetes or possible pre-diabetes. This can be treated to prevent development of diabetes.
Cholesterol, HDL and LDL Cholesterol, Triglycerides. Analysis of both types of cholesterol and triglycerides gives more accurate data on risk of cardiovascular disease.
Iron, Total Iron Binding Capacity, Transferrin Saturation, Ferritin. Complete check of iron stores and capacity, enables interpretation of lack or excess and it’s cause.
Omega 3 and 6 Levels. Good omega 3 levels and balance with omega 6 levels reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Total Antioxidant Status. These protect the body from harmful free radicals, they can be produced in response to stress. We’ll guide you on the results and how to improve.
Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, Iron, Copper, Chromium, Manganese. Found in small quantities in the blood but essential for all bodily functions such as growth including muscle and hair, wound healing and metabolism.
Vitamin B9 (folic acid) and B12. Healthy levels essential for red blood cell development and a healthy neurological system.
